Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use ReadIt. They cover what you may do with the app, what you are responsible for, and how subscriptions work.
Last updated 30 August 2026
Using ReadIt
ReadIt is licensed to you, not sold. You may install and use it on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell it, rent it, or redistribute it, and you may not attempt to extract its source code except where the law expressly permits it.
The books you import
ReadIt reads books that you supply. You are responsible for having the right to use each file you import, and for how you use the audio it produces.
- Import only books you have lawfully obtained and are permitted to read in this way.
- Narration produced by ReadIt is for your own listening. Do not distribute, broadcast, sell, or publish it.
- We do not host, supply, or sell books. ReadIt provides no catalogue and no store.
We do not review the files you import, because they never leave your device. Responsibility for their legality is yours.
Subscriptions and payment
ReadIt’s core features work with your phone’s built-in voices at no cost. Full-cast narration may be offered as a paid subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your device’s account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue a refund on their behalf, but write to us and we will help you make the request.
Availability
Features that depend on a third-party service, such as full-cast narration, can be interrupted if that service is unavailable. The built-in voice engine keeps working regardless. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any network-dependent feature.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ReadIt to infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights.
- Interfere with the app’s operation, or attempt to gain access to systems or data you are not authorised to reach.
- Use automated means to generate narration at a volume plainly beyond personal listening.
We may suspend access to paid, network-dependent features if these terms are broken.
Disclaimer and liability
ReadIt is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Synthesised narration can mispronounce words, misattribute dialogue, or misread a passage, and should not be relied on where an exact reading matters.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of ReadIt is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use ReadIt after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for ReadIt. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
